Greetings Brothers and Sisters,

We find ourselves at the end of another month, however, with the seasonally warm weather and the beautiful colours that have hung on so long it is hard to believe that it is the end of October already. This week we got the opportunity to enjoy a sneak preview of Monday’s showing of Phantom of The Opera when Sharon was interviewed about the presentation of the silent film by CBC. We hope that you will be able to join us for this amazing event which starts at 7pm.

Spirit sisters this week will be going on a “field trip” down the hall to the silent movie. Expect to be at the church longer than usual as the movies run time is 1 hour and 48 minutes and there will be an intermission.
As this coming week unfolds we offer our prayers for the children who will take to the streets to trick-or-treat this Tuesday and that all who celebrate Halloween do so safely.

On Wednesday the Men’s group gathers at 7pm so that they can continue to foster and experience authentic and supportive community and great discussion around the markers of faith found in the book Bullseye.

Friday November 3rd our youth group (middle school and older) will be meeting at the church at 6:30-9pm where we will be exploring reaching out to others, and church wide games. But between now and then we are looking forward to seeing you.

This Sunday is our Bring a Friend Sunday, with potluck to follow. Church growth research shows that the most consistent way that Churches grow is through members inviting others to come and check out their church. So we invite you to think about the people you know: who might feel alone and enjoy the companionship of the congregation; who is going through a rough patch and may find comfort in Christ; who has expressed a desire to develop their spirituality; is there someone who you think will love St. Paul’s as much as you do. Then invite them to come with you, offer to pick them up and open the door to the joy and love we find here.

Also, don’t forget that before the service we will be bringing back some of our old favorites during a Sing Song which will start at 10:10-10:25 before the service. This week in service we will hear the story of Solomon, David’s son, and his building of the temple in Jerusalem and God moving in which is found in 1 Kings 5:1-5, 8:1-13.

In next weeks e-news you will find more details about the UCW’s fall Bazar and luncheon, pantry Sunday and a time reminder.

Blessings on your weekend and week to come,

Rev. Michelle and Rev. Richard
