Minister Emeritus
Reverend Reg Miller

Born in 1918 in Cardiff, Wales, Reginald James Miller trained as a Marine Engineer and served in the Royal Navy during WWII as a Chief Petty Officer. From 1940 to 1942, he had the honor of serving on the same ship, in the same gun turret, as Prince Phillip. In 1954 he immigrated to Canada with his wife, Monica, and sons Roger and Robert. Reg attended Mount Allison University and Pine Hill Divinity Hall and was ordained in 1959.
As a student minister, Reg's first charge was in Malpeque PEI, where he conducted his visitations on horse and wagon in the harsh island winters.
The Reverend Reg Miller has served as United Church Minister in Nappan and Springhill NS, where he frequently served as Chaplin at the Springhill Institution, a medium-security facility.
In 1963, Reg and family moved to Chatham NB, where he served as the minister until 1983. A regular on the local radio church broadcasts, Reg became know as the "Dean of the Miramichi ."
From 1974 to 1987 he served as part-time Padre at the St. Margaret's Radar Station in New Brunswick. In recent years he was presbytery ordained supply for the Wesley United Church in Lincoln.

Rev. Miller is currently filling the honoured role of Minister Emeritus with St. Paul's United Church. His service to St. Paul's has been invaluable: his much enjoyed visits to parishioners; sharing communion duties; and the occasional special sermon. He also leads a very popular bible study on Sunday nites (September - May) and his booming baritoned, Welsh-accented voice can be heard leading the sing along prior to the 10:30 service the last Sunday of every month. We are still unsure as to the number of languages in which he can sing "Jesus Loves Me."
