Restoring a Church

Don't worry . . . you don't have to get out your trowel and help with the stonework at St. Paul's. We'll leave that to the experts but we are hoping you will consider a donation to the Restoration Fund. Your donation will help St. Paul's continue its mission of glorifying God and serving others, and will ensure our church remains as a legacy for future generations.

Church Members Say:

May God entrust each one of us to do our best to meet this financial need. What we have received from those who went before us must be preserved for those who follow - the tradition must live on.
- Lee Stickles, MD, FRCPC

My father was an elder for many years. My mother was an active member of the ladies aid. Two brothers were in the choir. John, the eldest, was a frequent soloist. All three were cubs and scouts. I was in C.G.I.T as a member and then a leader for many years and served as an elder for six years. My grandfather Watson had paid $3 for the ownership of pew 18. When I attend church, I usually find myself still in pew 18. I continue to be a generous supporter and will be ready to contribute to the Restoration Fund. I have also included St. Paul's in my will.

The Challenge - A $500,000 Renovation

Both the church and Fraser Memorial Hall require renovations for reasons of safety, preservation and energy efficiency.

  • Time and weather have damaged the stonework
  • Mortar holding the stones in place is cracked and needs repointing (new grout).
  • Memorial windows that have cast a warm glow on our congregation for many years need repairs - some because the stonework that holds them in place is loose.
  • Protective glass will be installed to the outside of all the windows.
  • Fraser Memorial Hall needs a new roof and some windows replaced.

The cost of these repairs will be approximately $500,000.

What We Need From You ?

The Restoration Fund needs support from all of us. Please do what you can to help.

In addition to this financial appeal, we will be organizing other events which will permit the congregation and the general public to socialize and support the restoration project at the same time. Information will appear in the Sunday bulletins as these activities are planned.

Church Members Say:

I believe the restoration Fund, if wisely planned and efficiently administered, will provide a psychological uplift to reach our spiritual goals, thus leaving a God-given legacy to those who follow.
-R.S. (Bob) Forbes, PhD

I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't support the Restoration Fund of St. Paul's.
-Marven Palmer, MD

St. Paul's is my family church and its people, my church family. I am proud to say St. Paul's will always be my church and I am happy to help with its restoration.
