Happy Halloween! The psalm for today is about the eternal love and protection that God provides for those who call out in deep faith. As this is Halloween and many of our children will be out trick-or-treating, I want to offer a prayer for them.

Let’s prayer

Psalm 107:1-3

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures for ever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those he redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

You, O God, are the light that shine brightest when we feel surrounded by darkness. This night we ask that you watch over goblins, ghosts and gaggles of ghouls. Guide the feet of those heroes whether they are Super, Bat, or Cat because to us each one is a Wonder. Just as you arm’s reach is wider than from east to west to embrace all of your children whether they trick or treat, may your eyes watch both North and South in this place that all might return safely home. This we ask in the name of Christ who walks with us this night and all our days. AMEN

Have a blessed Halloween!
