Well, the Fall is fast approaching, and St. Paul’s is becoming busier and busier. Aside from hosting groups regularly throughout the week, we also have book studies, Bible Study’s and a Play Group.

The Book Study is starting in the Men’s Conversation Group that happens Monday nights from 7 p.m. to 8:30 (ish. We went to 8:50 with such good conversation). The book we are reading is Autopsy of a Deceased Church by Thom Rainer. The book looks at 14 stories of churches that have struggled and ultimately closed. The author does an “autopsy” with former members to see where the pitfalls and perils were over time. In an age where churches all over seem to be seeing decline, its important to move forward with our eyes open to the realities around us. Though this started as a Men’s Conversation Group idea, I am hoping to reach out to other groups in the Church to see if they would also like to run through it.

As for the Bible Study, we have our first gathering at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th. All are welcome to come to this time of exploration. Those of any age may come and ask questions, and no matter how knowledgeable you are with these Holy Scriptures (even if it’s not at all) please come and share your perspective.

Lastly, but certainly not least, on Wednesday Morning’s we have our Play Group that meets from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. It’s a great space for pre-school age kids to run around, and for adults to talk with other adults.

This a start for the life that is growing at St. Paul’s United during this Fall season. I hope that something here speaks to you, and if it doesn’t, let me know either in the comments below or through the Contact Us page.

As the leaves fall and the colours change, may your faith in God and love for creation grow.

Peace,
Rev. Richard
