SAINT ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN & ST. PAUL’S UNITED

From the desk of Rev. Michelle…

It has been a very long short week, I had several things that I wanted to talk about in the eNews this week however I have run out of time. We have all had weeks like that, and being a short week from the beginning, I am hoping you will extend your grace and look forward to next week’s update for more theological reflection. In the meantime, here are some logistical and informational pieces for you.

First off thank you to everyone who filled and emailed responses to the Listening for Our Wider Vision questions. I will give you more information next week about what the visioning team heard.

All documentation for the St. Paul’s annual meeting THIS weekend (May 25th) can be found on the website  https://www.stpaulsunited.ca/annual-reports/ under the publications and reports menu.
Zoom link for those who can not make follow the zoom link and passcode: 088645  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81382545385?pwd=7HceL8QvzAyZvNiopgazFqV5ZFBakt.1  Meeting room will be opened immediately following worship, meeting to start around 11:45.

St. Andrew’s information will not be ready for pick up next week, with the St. Andrew’s AGM taking place on June 8th. More details to come.

This week in worship, we will be celebrating the sacrament of baptism. I hope that you are able to make it, as baby Lillee, daughter of Sandara and Jim, will be welcomed into this body of Christ.

The United Church is celebrating 100 years of being the United Church. A special centennial service is happening on June 8th, with congregations choosing to attend the city-wide service at 10:30 at Fredericton High School. The former moderator, Right Reverend Peter Short, will be preaching. It is hoped that many United Church Members will join this celebration. Funding provided through a grant and cost sharing by all United Churches in Fredericton.

One final note, as of May 21st Meghan is no longer working for St. Paul’s United Church. We wish her the best in whatever the future holds and pray for the opportunities ahead of her. There will be cards at that back of the Sanctuary for people to offer well wishes and gratitude for her time with us. Because of this change the office hours for the next while will be variable and people are encouraged to call the office before coming down to the church.
Heading into this weekend let us pray,

God of love and grace,
We are in need of your sabbath rest.
As the demands of life continue,
As stress abounds,
And uncertainty causes anxiety,
Help us to stop, and rest in your care.
Help us to know that what we have is enough,
And together we will find abundance.
In this deep truth, may we find hope and grace,
Security and rest. Amen.
