Well it’s almost a full day into 2016, and I wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Happy New year. As we took time over the last few days to reflect on the year that was, we celebrated our victories, examined our missteps, and ultimately we packed up 2015 and let it become a part of our past. It’s an important part, because it too is another year in the forming of our being.

And here we are, in another year, again looking forward at a clean slate, at new opportunities, at new relationships, and new hopes for what might be. As we dream of the year ahead, let us pray:

Holy One of Mystery, we stand on the edge of what is known and stare deep into the darkness that lays ahead. But this is not a darkness born out of wrongdoing, rather it is the darkness we find just before the dawn. Open our eyes that we might see the son’s rising in the days ahead. Guide us to live fully into your kingdom by embracing one another and answering your call to feed, clothe, shelter and heal a world in need. With the season of joy and compassion passing us by, help us to hold on to the feelings of unity and togetherness. In all things, we ask for your presence and your support. Be with us, we pray. AMEN

May this year be filled with joy and the blessings that come from time spent with friends and family.

Peace,
Rev. Richard
