So to start off, we continue tomorrow at 9:30a.m. with our Wednesday morning playgroup. It’s a great opportunity for kids of the congregation to get to know one another beyond Sunday morning, but it’s also nice to have other adults to talk to. We are very fortunate to have a dedicated volunteers for this weekly program. Her name is Amanda and she is studying for her Early Childhood Education and hoping to move into teaching. Come and meet her and bring the kids for fun and games.

On Thursday I’ll be taking a trip up to Woodstock for the first meeting of Presbytery since the start of Summer. Presbytery is a governing body within The United Church of Canada that oversees congregations and ministries within their bounds. It’s also a gathering of a wonderful community of people across our region and a great opportunity to get to know our United brothers and sisters. If you have any questions about Presbytery and the work they do feel free to get in touch with me any time!

Now on to Sunday, September 27th. I will be away from the church this Sunday as we participate in our second pulpit exchange. I’ll be trading spaces with Rev. Yvette Swan of the Nashwaak Pastoral Charge. Come and worship and get to know another minister from the greater Fredericton area.

Staying with Sunday, we will have the second meeting of our Bible Study group in the afternoon that day from 2-3:30 p.m. You don’t have to be a Biblical scholar to come to this study, and indeed the more questions we have, the better the experience will be for everyone. Remember, if you’re thinking of a question, odds are several other people are wondering about the same thing. The readings we will be looking at this coming Sunday are below:

  • Job 1:1; 2:1-10
  • Psalm 26
  • Hebrews 1:1-4, 2:5-12
  • Mark 10:2-16

Should you have any questions about any of these readings prior to the study, get in touch with me through our Contact Us page.
